Inherited S.C.I.E.N.CE.

When I was 23, I revisited my Dad’s house to clean out a few of my childhood keepsakes.  In the process, I discovered his collection of mountain postcards, a rock collection from his great-grandfather and slides from his soul journey to Colorado when he too was 23.  I brought the slides and rock collection back with me to Iowa, in an act of transporting landscape and acting as a geological force. The rock collection and slide projector are displayed on a framed reproduction print of ‘Mountain Paradise’ by Wilmer, recalling the often manufactured traditional representation of western landscapes.  To complete the collections of domestic landscape represenation, laminated placemats and jigsaw puzzles fill out the area for discovery.
